As one of the premier Egyptian dancers of the late 20th century, Mona Said performed with a style that ranged from understated to abandoned. Known for her regal bearing, emotional nuance and technical precision, Mona Said was not just a masterful Egyptian style artist, she was a master of performance.
Through videos, discussion, lecture and DANCE, master teacher TAMRA-HENNA will break down and embody the elements of Mona Said's style. You will learn combinations from Mona Said's most famous works, examine the features that make them captivating, then use those ingredients in your own combos to integrate them into your dance.

Tamra-henna is an interantionally acclaimed performer, choreographer and educator of the exquisite are of Raqs Sharqi (Egyptian "belly dance") and other Middle Eastern folklore. She teaches Middle Eastern dance throughout the LA area and also teaches Middle Eastern Dance History at Glendale Community College. She is the artistic director of Henna & Dates Dance Theater.
